In a generous act of compassion, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has pledged a total of ₹6 crore to aid flood victims in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This significant contribution includes ₹1 crore each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Funds of both states and an additional ₹4 crore, allocated as ₹1 lakh to each of the 400 affected gram panchayats.
The recent floods have devastated approximately 400 villages across Andhra Pradesh, prompting Kalyan to take swift action. He visited the Disaster Management Commission’s office to assess the situation and held discussions with key officials, including Home Minister Anita and the Special Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department, RP Sisodia.
In a media briefing, Kalyan expressed his condolences to those impacted by the floods and emphasized the need for a comprehensive plan to manage future disasters. He acknowledged that the flood’s impact is gradually lessening, but ongoing relief and rescue operations are crucial. “We will develop a master plan for our cities to prevent such disasters in the future,” he stated.
Although Kalyan initially intended to visit the flood-affected areas, he decided against it based on official advice, aiming to avoid disrupting relief operations. His commitment to supporting the affected communities reflects his dedication to public service during these challenging times.
With Kalyan’s substantial donation and the government’s ongoing efforts, there is hope for recovery and rebuilding in the flood-stricken regions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
