Inauguration Of Ayodhya Airport Will Be “Historic Day” In Indian History
The Ayodhya airport, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, is built over an area of 6,500 square meters. In an interview to PTI, Scindia said the inauguration of the Ayodhya airport, which will be further enlarged in the second phase by boosting total area and lengthening the runway, is scheduled for tomorrow, according to Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Built over 6,500 square meters, the Ayodhya airport will be officially opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said in an interview with PTI that tomorrow is set aside for the official opening of the Ayodhya airport. Scindia added that this will be a historic day for the country, as the airport will be expanded further in the second phase by increasing its total area and lengthening its runway. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally launch the 6,500 square meter Ayodhya airport on Saturday. Scindia says that in the upcoming days, the connectivity at the Ayodhya airport will keep getting better.
“There is tremendous potential with civil aviation across the country providing capability and especially for Ayodhya which is religiously and spiritually entwined in our hearts,” said the prime minister. He asserts that the second phase of the airport project will be incredibly expansive, spanning from 6,500 square meters to 50,000 square meters. “We are expanding the runway to 3,750 meters which is good enough for international flights,” he said. The first phase of the Ayodhya airport development cost more over Rs 1,450 crore. The airport terminal building spans 6,500 square meters and can handle around 10 lakh people annually.
An official has stated that a notice announcing the airport’s renaming to “Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham” will be issued soon. The airport will improve connectivity in the region, leading to an increase in business, tourism, and job opportunities, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Thursday.
The airport, which received its aerodrome license from aviation regulator DGCA on December 14, has a 2,200-meter runway and is suitable for operations during the day, at night, and in circumstances where visibility is less than 550 meters, according to information released earlier this month by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The façade of the terminal building depicts the temple architecture of the proposed Shri Ram Mandir.
