“I know that Nirmala Sitharaman is a very intelligent leader and a Minister. But she represents Karnataka. The Finance Minister announced ₹5,300 crores for the Bhadra project. Was it not her statement?” Shivakumar questioned. He added that no Minister will announce without any recommendation.
It was disclosed in her budget prior to the elections. He inquired, “Have they released it?” According to the Deputy Chief Minister, Sitharaman is fully capable of redressing any wrong that has been committed. In another jab at Sitharaman, he said that the Union Minister ought to have given Karnataka a GIFT City, just as she did for Gujarat.
The Deputy CM made these remarks while speaking to reporters at his Sadashivanagar residence. “The state is reeling under severe drought. But, the state BJP leaders haven’t made any efforts to hold a meeting with the central government and seek drought relief funds. Instead, they are busy criticizing our government.”
