Congress supported Siddaramaiah after the Governor gave nod to sanction his prosecution in the alleged MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) land scam. Congress termed this a conspiracy against a “backward-class Chief Minister”. BJP shot back, saying the Governor was well within his constitutional powers to allow legal action against Siddaramaiah in the ‘scam’ worth ₹4,000 crore.
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah accused the Centre of using Raj Bhavan for politics. This comes after the Governor granted permission to sanction him in the alleged scam on the allocation of land by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). Siddaramaiah said, “The entire Cabinet is with me. The entire high command is with me. All the MLAs and MLCs are standing by my side.”
