Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath today paid homage to the late UP CM Kalyan Singh on his birth anniversary at a program in Lucknow. During the program, CM Yogi extended a gesture of respect to the esteemed leader on this significant occasion. BJP national chief JP Nadda also remembered Kalyan Singh’s contribution to the BJP and said that Kalyan Singh laid the foundation stone of good governance and social justice in Uttar Pradesh.
It is known that Kalyan Singh passed away at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow due to sepsis and multi-organ failure on August 21, 2021. However, Kalyan Singh served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh twice, from June 1991 to December 1992 and September 1997 to November 1999. Kalyan Singh also served as Governor of Rajasthan from 2014–2019. Singh also held various positions in the BJP, both at the state and the central level.
However, CM Yogi Adityanath shared a post on ‘X’ and wrote, “Humble tribute to the pioneer of the Shri Ram Mandir movement, former Governor of Rajasthan, and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, ‘Padma Vibhushan’ Revered Kalyan Singh ‘Babuji’ on his birth anniversary.” He also said, “Revered ‘Babu Ji’ will always be remembered for his selfless service to society and the nation”.
