The fifth day of Rahul Gandhi’s prestigious Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra began from Tuli in Nagaland to Jorhat in Assam today, January 18, 2024. During the yatra, Rahul Gandhi, speaking at a public rally, said that perhaps the most corrupt government in India is running in Assam. However, a flag handover ceremony was conducted just before the yatra in Sivasagar, Assam.
During the yatra, Rahul Gandhi accused the central government and alleged that the BJP-RSS are doing injustice in the country and every state, be it economic injustice, social injustice, or political injustice. Rahul also slammed PM Modi, saying that there is an atmosphere of civil war in Manipur state, and to date, PM Modi has not visited the state.
On Sunday, January 14, Congress Party national chief Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi flagged off the yatra from Thoubal in Manipur. During the flag-off ceremony, Rahul Gandhi stressed that Congress began the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra to ensure justice to the people of our country, as the people are facing a period of ‘great injustice’ in the country. However, the yatra will cover over 6,700 kilometers over 67 days, traversing through 110 districts.
