Renowned economist Bibek Debroy passed away on Friday at the age of 69. He served as the chairman of Prime Minister Modi’s Economic Advisory Council and was the chancellor of the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics in Pune. Debroy was awarded the Padma Shri and was a member of NITI Aayog until June 2019. He edited several books and contributed as an editor for various newspapers.
