October 2024 has been recorded as the warmest Oct in Safdarjung, New Delhi, since 1951, with average maximum and minimum temperatures of 35.1°C and 21.2°C, respectively, according to the IMD. Concurrently, pollution levels surged post-Diwali, with most areas exceeding an Air Quality Index of 350, raising health concerns among residents, especially after firecracker bans were flouted.
