Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan has urged Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to lift a financial condition tied to the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) for the Vizhinjam International Seaport project. The Centre approved Rs 817.80 crore in VGF, but Kerala is required to repay this through revenue sharing. The project aims to become a key transshipment hub under India’s maritime vision.
