The nomination filing for the Maharashtra assembly polls, scheduled for Nov 20, has ended. EC officials reported that 7,995 candidates are contesting for a total of 288 seats. On Oct 29, the final day for nominations, 4,996 individuals submitted their candidacies. Major parties are now working to address issues with rebel candidates, as the deadline for withdrawal of nominations is Nov 4.
