Fire Breaks Out At Soap Powder Godown In Chennai

Authorities said that a godown containing soap powder caught fire in the Manali, North Chennai, suburb of Vayakadu. Damage from the fire to goods valued at Rs 100 crore has occurred. There are five fire tenders working to put out the fire. The sugar cane fields round the whole area.

There is concern that the fire may spread because an Indian Oil Company gas cylinder facility is close to the location of the private godown where it started.
