Pune Police booked a contractor and homeowner after illegal borewell drilling punctured a metro tunnel in Shukrawar Peth. The breach caused water seepage on the Shivajinagar-Swargate route. Officials said warnings were ignored and damage cost Rs 2.5 lakh. A similar incident recently occurred in Mumbai, raising concerns over unauthorized excavation.
