81 women constables and 4 women sub-inspectors make up the Delhi Police Brass and Pipe Band. The ‘Delhi Police Song’ was performed by the band. The marching contingent of Delhi Police, the reigning champion of the best marching contingent for fifteen years, also made their way along Kartavya Path.
Addl. Deputy Commissioner of Police Shweta K Sugathan, IPS, is leading an all-women group that is marching in the Republic Day Parade for the first time in its history. One Addl. DCP, three female Sub-Inspectors, 44 female head constables, and 100 female constables make up the well-dressed women wearing ‘red safas’ who are part of the Delhi Police marching group.
Since India became a republic in 1950, this contingent has had the particular honor of taking part in the Republic Day Parade every year. “Shanti, Seva our Nyaya,” which translates to “Peace, Service, and Justice,” is its slogan.
