The elephants today performed a parade with the tri-color at Mudumalai Theppakadu Elephant Camp in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. On the occasion of 2024 Republic Day today, a total of 27 domesticated elephants joined the parade. In fact, each of the elephants and Mahout were seated and stood holding the tri-color in a unique and patriotic celebration of the 75th Republic Day.
According to government sources, the elephants are popularly known as Chera elephants, which displayed a touching gesture as the elephants raised their trunks to pay homage to our national flag. On the other side, several tourists who came to Mudumalai today celebrated the 75th Republic Day with elephants and were treated to sweets. Meanwhile, the elephants were also provided with nutritional foods such as sugarcane, belam, coconut, kelp, and ragi.
Early today, a huge crowd of citizens gathered at Kartavya Path to watch the iconic Republic Day Parade on the occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day. Meanwhile, several monuments across the country were lit up in saffron, white, and green lights to mark the 75th Republic Day today.
