Today is the ’75th Republic Day’ celebration in the country. To honor women in a variety of fields, there will be a “women-centric” procession at the national capital’s ‘Kartavya Path.’ India is celebrating its 75th Republic Day this year, which honors the country’s attainment of independence and the ratification of the constitution on January 26, 1950.
The first and last sessions of the constituent assembly took place in December 1946 and November 1949, respectively. A year later, the constitution was enacted, with Dr. BR Ambedkar leading the drafting committee.
Dr Ambedkar came to be known as the ‘Father of Constitution’. This year’s Republic Day themes, “Viksit Bharat” and “Bharat: Loktantra ki Matruka,” stand for the nation’s goals and its responsibility to promote democracy.
Earlier, Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane stated that the majority of the marching contingents in the parade will be women. The majority of the tableaux representing the States, Union Territories (UTs), Central Ministries, and Organizations will highlight the nation’s rich cultural diversity, unity, and progress.
He restated that PM Narendra Modi’s belief that “India is truly a mother of democracy” guided the selection of the topics. Let us tell you that the parade, which will commence at 10:30 a.m., will continue for around 90 minutes.
This is the first time that 100 female musicians playing Indian musical instruments will lead the march. Women artists will open the parade with musical selections from Sankh, Naadswaram, Nagada, and other genres. A first-ever all-female Tri-Service contingent will march down Kartavya Path during the parade.
