The FSSAI has asked IRCTC to explain alleged unhygienic catering practices on the Duronto Express. This follows a passenger’s video showing food stored near toilets and dirty washing areas. The food safety regulator ordered a strict inspection of the train’s kitchen base and warned of legal action if safety standards were violated.
