Wanted Criminal Shot Dead In UP’s Meerut Encounter

Sonu Matka (39), a criminal wanted for multiple cases in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, was killed in an encounter with police in Meerut. An associate of the Hashim Baba gang, Matka had a ₹50,000 bounty and was involved in robbery and a double murder. The joint operation by Uttar Pradesh STF and Delhi Police’s Special Cell led to his death from critical injuries. Investigations are ongoing.
