The Modi government has banned the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), which is led by terror suspect Yasin Malik, four subgroups of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), and the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL) for their roles in inciting violence and secession in Union territory.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that there will be serious consequences for anyone found to be undermining the country’s security, sovereignty, or integrity.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs also banned four J-K Peoples League factions in a separate notification: JKPL (Mukhtar Ahmed Waza), JKPL (Bashir Ahmad Tota), JKPL (Ghulam Mohammad Khan), and the JKPL (Aziz Sheikh) commanded by Yaqoob Sheikh.
Amit Shah, on the ‘X’ handle, said that the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (Mohd. Yasin Malik group) has been deemed an unlawful association by the Modi government for an additional five years.
The minister claimed that by encouraging, supporting, and abetting Jammu and Kashmir’s secession through terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League, which was also designated as a prohibited organization for five years, had endangered India’s integrity.
In another post, he declared that the Modi administration will not spare individuals or groups engaged in acts of terror.
