Kerala CM Inaugurates Disaster Warning System ‘KaWaCHaM’

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated Kerala State Disaster Management Authority’s (KSDMA) early warning system ‘KaWaCHaM’. It is an acronym for Kerala Warnings Crisis and Hazards Management System. The word ‘kavacham’ in Malayalam means ‘shield’, symbolizing protection. KaWaCHaM is developed by KSDMA with financial support from National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and World Bank.
