As many as 22 police and excise personnel in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad have been suspended for failing to curb the supply of suspected spurious liquor that killed 14 people. Eight accused, including a bootlegger, were arrested, and the CID took over the probe. Deaths occurred in Phugewadi and Hadapsar, while five victims remain hospitalised.
