Gujarat Police arrested four people, including Maulik Patel, an Indian-origin Australian businessman, for running a fake currency racket. Patel allegedly masterminded the operation after heavy losses in his transport business. The group was caught with 151 counterfeit Australian 50-dollar notes, intending to exchange them for Indian rupees. The racket was traced in Ahmedabad’s Vatva area.
