Ahead of the farmers’ “Delhi Chalo” march on February 13, 2024, internet services have been halted in seven districts of Haryana. A ban on mobile internet, bulk SMS, and associated services was announced on Saturday by the Haryana government, headed by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and would last until February 13, 2024, in seven districts.
In the Haryana districts of Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad, and Sirsa, all internet services would be suspended. The internet suspension will be effective from 6 a.m. on February 11 until 11.59 p.m. on February 13, 2024. Furthermore, immense security measures were implemented in Jind, Haryana, in anticipation of the farmers’ planned ‘Delhi Chalo’ march.
In light of the potential for traffic congestion on all major routes connecting Haryana with Punjab, the Haryana government issued an advisory. The state police emphasized that every preparation has been done to uphold law and order, avert acts of violence, and facilitate traffic and public transportation.
