The government of Uttar Pradesh will build its first advanced pediatric center, the first of its kind in the state. In this regard, the UP cabinet approved the proposal for setting up the pediatric center. This facility is not available at any institute or medical college in the state.

However, the project is estimated to cost around Rs 200 crore, and the center will be established in two phases. The Advanced Pediatric Center will have various pediatric experts to treat all diseases related to children. The Director of Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr. RK Dhiman, said that currently, 40% of the population in the state comprises children and adolescents aged 0–18 years.
