A 16-year-old Delhi boy named Kunal Roy wanted to study science with his friends. All of them moved to other institutes to pursue their preferred subject. However, Kunal was left behind as he could not secure a seat in any institute in the science stream. The 11th grade student, Kunal, was hurt by this and committed suicide in the dormitory of his school.
As per the police, Kunal’s body was found in the dormitory of the Kalinga Institute of Social Science School in Delhi. Kunal is the son of Shiv Chand Roy of the Rani Khera area of Nangloi, Delhi. His school did not offer science as a subject for higher studies, so his friends shifted to other educational institutions, leaving Kunal. Despite his father’s attempts to advise him to pursue his education in the arts stream, Kunal struggled with loneliness and depression.
Around 6:00 am on Thursday, Kunal hung himself to an iron rod in the ceiling, using a torn bed sheet. A noticeable ligature mark was found on his neck, indicating the cause of death. According to the police, his body was shifted to RTRM Hospital, where an autopsy was conducted. Later, his body was handed over to his parents.
