Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) rescheduled the launch of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Proba-3 Sun observation mission to Thursday due to an undisclosed anomaly detected after the countdown progressed smoothly. The PSLV-XL rocket was initially set to launch the mission on Wednesday but will now take off on Thursday at 4:12 pm from Sriharikota.
NASA has reestablished contact with Voyager 1 after a weeks-long blackout caused by a power issue. In October 2024, the spacecraft switched to a weaker S-band radio transmitter due to reduced power. Now operating normally, Voyager 1, the farthest spacecraft from Earth, is exploring uncharted space nearly 15.4 billion miles (24.9 billion km) away.

The countdown for ISRO’s Proba-3 mission, in collaboration with ESA, has begun. Launching today at 4:08 PM IST from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, the mission features two satellites, the Coronagraph and the Occulter, designed to fly 150 meters apart. Proba-3 will demonstrate advanced satellite formation flying and enable detailed observations of the Sun’s corona.
