Iran’s Majid (AD‑08) is a short‑range surface‑to‑air missile system using passive infrared and electro‑optical guidance to detect and engage low‑flying aircraft without radar emissions. Capable of tracking targets up to 15 km away and firing missiles at Mach 2, it has been linked to incidents where Iranian defences damaged or shot down US warplanes.
