The AAP hailed the Supreme Court’s bail decision for former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as a “victory of truth.” Sisodia was granted bail after nearly 18 months in custody over the alleged liquor policy case.
AAP leader Raghav Chadha celebrated the verdict, praising Sisodia’s contributions to Delhi’s education system and expressing gratitude to the Supreme Court. Chadha noted that Sisodia had been imprisoned for 530 days for working to improve the future of underprivileged children.
The Supreme Court, led by Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan, ruled that continuing Manish Sisodia’s detention without significant trial progress would be a “travesty of justice.”
Justice Gavai highlighted the lack of trial commencement and deprivation of a speedy trial. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann called Sisodia’s bail a “victory of truth” on X.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh described the Supreme Court’s verdict as a “slap on the Centre’s dictatorship,” criticizing the 17-month imprisonment of Manish Sisodia, which he said had ruined Sisodia’s life and hindered his work for children’s education.
Singh expressed hope for bail and justice for other party leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Satyendar Jain, and praised the Supreme Court for its decision.
