Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has proposed September 21 for Atishi’s swearing-in as Chief Minister-designate, after Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation. Atishi, AAP’s new leader, aims to guide the party through the upcoming Delhi elections. She also defended Kejriwal against corruption charges. Atishi’s leadership is expected to carry forward the reforms that defined AAP’s governance.
Earlier, Delhi CM-elect Atishi called Arvind Kejriwal her “guru”, and said her target was to get him re-elected to the top post in the next Assembly polls. She also assailed BJP for filing “false cases” against Kejriwal and trying to destablize the AAP government. “Delhi has only one CM and that is Arvind Kejriwal. I will work for the next few months to bring back Kejriwal as Delhi CM,” she added.
