Mihir Shah, the accused in the Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case, admitted during police questioning that his career was effectively ended by the incident. He also acknowledged consuming alcohol at two bars before the event.
On July 7, Shah collided with a two-wheeler in Worli, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old woman who was a passenger. After evading authorities for nearly three days, he was apprehended on Tuesday.
Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) leader Rajesh Shah, was reportedly enjoying a joyride on Marine Drive on the day of the incident. Last night, both Mihir Shah and the BMW driver were brought to Worli by the police to recreate the crime scene.
Sources indicate that the police are verifying the statements of both accused, as they do not entirely trust them. The police plan to bring Bidawat and Mihir Shah together to gather additional details about the crash and reconstruct the entire sequence of events, stated the official.
In an effort to conceal his identity, Mihir Shah reportedly shaved his beard and trimmed his hair. The official further mentioned that authorities are investigating whether anyone assisted him in altering his appearance.
