With just 48 hours remaining until the Ganesh idol procession and immersion on September 17, along with events at Public Gardens and Parade Grounds, Hyderabad City Police have intensified their final preparations. Additionally, Milad-Un-Nabi festivities will commence tonight, further adding to the need for heightened security and efficient management.
On Sunday, City Police Commissioner CV Anand conducted a comprehensive video conference with zonal Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and patrol and blue-colts staff. During this briefing, Anand highlighted the challenges ahead and emphasized key factors for effective bandobust plans. He stressed the importance of implementing robust security measures starting tonight, enhancing intelligence gathering, and finalizing the overall action plan.
Anand instructed blue-colts and patrol teams to increase surveillance and patrolling in lanes, bylanes, and mixed-community areas. Addressing past lapses, he underscored the need for an effective traffic management strategy, particularly at critical junctions like Basheerbagh and MJ Market. DCPs were directed to ensure timely movement of idols and provide necessary logistical support, including force accommodation, external force briefings, communication systems, anti-sabotage checks, social media monitoring, and deployment of SHE Teams, drones, and camera-mounted vehicles.
Preparations for the Milad-Un-Nabi procession on September 19 were also discussed, with operational plans being reviewed. The Telangana Command Control Centre (TGCCC) and the CCC at Basheerbagh will be operational from early hours on immersion day, with representatives from all departments ready to address any issues.
