Delhi Traffic Police Advises On Routes To Avoid For Independence Day

Ahead of 78th Independence Day 2024 on August 15, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for people. Several roads in the national capital will be closed from 4 AM to 10 AM, with only authorized vehicles allowed on these routes.

Traffic restrictions will be in place around the Red Fort from 4 AM to 10 AM. The affected roads include:
*Netaji Subhash Marg: From Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail
*Lothian Road: GPO Delhi to Chatta Rail
*SP Mukherjee Marg: From HC Sen Marg to Yamuna Bazar Chowk
*Chandni Chowk Road: Fountain Chowk to the Red Fort
*Nishad Raj Marg: From the Ring Road to Netaji Subhash Marg
*Esplanade Road and its Link Road to Netaji Subhash Marg
*Ring Road: From Rajghat to ISBT
*Outer Ring Road: From ISBT to IP Flyover (Salimgarh Bypass)

The traffic advisory advises that vehicles without parking labels for Independence Day celebrations should avoid the following roads from 4 AM to 10 AM, C-Hexagon India Gate, Copernicus Marg, Mandi House, Sikandra Road, Mathura Road, W Point, A Point Tilak Marg, BSZ Marg, JL Nehru Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, Ring Road between Nizamuddin Khatta and ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Outer Ring Road from Nizamuddin Khatta to ISBT Kashmiri Gate via Salimgarh Bypass.

The advisory also stated that adequate informative signage will be displayed at all major traffic junctions to guide vehicles heading to the Red Fort.
