Bill Gates Reveals His Top Concern Keeping Him Awake

Billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates, known for addressing issues like climate change and cyber threats, has expressed deep concern about the risks of war and future pandemics. In an interview with CNBC Make It, Gates warned of the potential for a major war and predicted another pandemic within the next 25 years.

He emphasized the importance of improving global preparedness, criticizing the U.S.’s response to COVID-19 as falling short of expectations. In his 2022 book, How to Prevent the Next Pandemic, Bill Gates criticized governments for their inadequate preparedness during the 2020 pandemic.

He provided recommendations for global improvements, including stricter quarantine protocols, improved disease monitoring, and greater investment in vaccine research and development.

Regarding COVID-19, Bill Gates commented, “While some lessons from the pandemic have been learned, they fall short of what I anticipated. We haven’t fully examined our successes and failures. Perhaps in the next five years this will change, but for now, the lack of reflection is quite surprising.”

Earlier, Bill Gates noted that artificial intelligence (AI) will significantly impact people’s lives over the next five years. In an interview with CNN, he emphasized that while AI might seem intimidating, it will actually open up new opportunities.

This comes shortly after IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva highlighted that AI could impact 60% of jobs in advanced economies and 40% globally.
