The upgraded YSR Aarogyasri scheme, introduced by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, would now offer free medical treatment up to Rs 25 lakh to those whose yearly income is less than Rs 5 lakh. Additionally, he officially started the new YSR Aarogyasri card distribution. “People won’t get trapped in a debt trap as a result of rising medical expenses,” he stated. The enormous public awareness campaign, which begins on Tuesday, will involve MLAs, workers from ASHA, volunteers, staff members of village secretariats, and ANMs. 3,257 illnesses in 2513 hospitals will be covered by the facility. Aarogyasri-eligible hospitals would also provide medical care at 35 hospitals in Bangalore, 16 in Chennai, and 85 super specialty hospitals in Hyderabad. While it was only 22.32 lakh during the Telugu Desam administration, the number of persons receiving treatment under the program has increased to 53 lakh.”
He added, “The government has been gradually expanding the network of medical facilities. Apart from adding 17 new medical colleges to the existing 11, we have filled 53,126 doctor, nurse, and paramedical staff vacancies. While they spent Rs 5900 crore during their entire tenure towards Arogyasri under TD rule, the present government has been spending an average of Rs 4100 crore every year, besides spending Rs 1309 crore under Arogya Asara.” According to Reddy, efforts have been made by the government to fill positions for expert doctors. Along with making 562 types of medications available in government facilities, he noted that the official apparatus is also working with the postal department to provide WHO-quality medications to people right at their doorstep. The government, he claimed, has advanced the preventative health care system to a new level by outfitting 10,032 village health clinics with CHOs, ANMs, three to four ASHA workers, 105 different types of medications, and 14 different diagnosis test kinds. The chief minister emphasized that the administration is dedicated to transforming the state into Arogya Andhra Pradesh and that the Nadu-Nedu program is also assisting hospitals in meeting national standards. He instructed officials to carry out the second phase of Jagananna Aarogya Suraksha, which will start on January 1, along with the ongoing public awareness campaign Aarogyasri.
