A budget of Rs. 346 crore has been authorized by the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati for the fiscal year 2024–2025. Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, the city MLA and chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board, presided over the MCT council meeting on Thursday at Sri Venkateswara University’s senate hall. Karunakar Reddy, speaking to the council as a special invitee, said that the approved budget estimates demonstrated the municipal council’s commitment to the entire growth and advancement of the temple city. A significant portion of the budget, Rs. 1.99 crore, is set aside for urgent repairs at the Telugu Ganga pump house. Furthermore, a sizeable amount of the budget—Rs. 34.6 crore—has been set aside to pay 1,557 outsourcing employees.
Bhumana pointed out that this choice will have a favorable effect on the workers’ standard of living and make a significant contribution to the local economy. The council adopted the motion with unanimous votes. As a result, the 40-foot road that connects Sarojini Devi Road to the grounds of Nehru Municipal School has been named Achyuta Devaraya Marg, while the recently constructed road next to the TTD administrative building has been named Candadai Ramanuja Iyengar Marg. Vaikhanasa Agama Marg, Pancharathra Agama Marg, and Kanaka Dasu Marg are the names of three additional recently constructed highways. It gives the city’s growing infrastructure a unique character,” the deputy mayor remarked.
