Jagan Abolishes 11 Assembly Segment Leaders Under “Why Not 175” Goal
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the president of the YSRC, switched party candidates in 11 Assembly seats on Monday in a fast political move. In the process, he nominated new leaders for the state's impending 2024 Assembly elections, including those for the Mangalagiri Assembly seat. The names of the new incharges were revealed on Monday night at a media conference held at the party headquarters in Tadepalli by Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and Government Advisor (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the president of the YSRC, switched party candidates in 11 Assembly seats on Monday in a fast political move. In the process, he nominated new leaders for the state’s impending 2024 Assembly elections, including those for the Mangalagiri Assembly seat. The names of the new incharges were revealed on Monday night at a media conference held at the party headquarters in Tadepalli by Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and Government Advisor (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. As anticipated, Jagan Mohan Reddy declared that Ganji Chiranjeevi, a well-known leader of the Backward Classes, would run as an MLA in Mangalagiri to replace Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, the current member. In short order, Ramakrishna Reddy quit both the party and the Assembly. Similar to this, in the Gajuwaka assembly constituency, Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan was beaten in 2019 by Jagan Mohan Reddy, who took the place of Tippala Devan Reddy, an aspirant candidate and the son of current MLA Tippala Nagireddy. Rather, the Yadava community member Varikuti Ramachandra Rao was named by the YSRC. Balasani Kiran Kumar was named by Jagan Mohan Reddy as the party’s nominee for the Prathipadu (SC) Assembly constituency, which is currently held by Mekathoti Sucharita, the home minister, for the next elections. In place of current MLA Undavalli Sridevi, who recently defected to Telugu Desam, Sucharita has been moved to the Tadikonda (SC) constituency. Remarkably, Dokka Manikya Varaprasad, a former minister who had been assigned as Tadikonda’s in-charge, was devastated by Sucharita’s selection.
After serving in the Yerragondapalem Assembly constituency for a while, another senior minister, Adimulapu Suresh, was transferred to the Kondepi (SC) constituency, which was being supported by another prominent leader, Madasi Venkaiah. No one has yet been announced by the party for Yerragondapalem. Merugu Nagarjuna, a senior lawmaker and minister of social welfare, has also been removed from his Vemuru (SC) constituency. Varikooti Ashok Babu has taken his post. T.J.R. Sudhakar Babu, the representative of the Santhanuthalapadu (SC) constituency, was not granted a ticket to run in the upcoming elections due to a number of allegations leveled against him. Nagarjuna has been named in charge of this seat. The appointment of Vidadala Rajini as health minister, who has the lowest probability of winning her electorate of Chilakaluripet, was another significant development. Mallela Rajesh Naidu is the one who took her place. Rajini will now serve in the Guntur (West) Assembly constituency. Maddali Giridhar Rao, the sitting MLA who previously switched from the TD to the YSRC, would not receive a party ticket. Jagan Mohan Reddy has declared Panem Hanimi Reddy as his candidate for the upcoming elections in Addanki. He had overseen the Pedakurapadu constituency up until this point. The YSRC designated Dr. Evuru Ganesh, a recent arrival, as the in-charge of Repalle, which is now represented by TD. For the Assembly elections, he would run as the party’s nominee.
