The full form of HYDRA is the ‘Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency. Recently, the HYDRA demolished the major part of the sprawling 10-acre N-Convention Centre, which was owned by Tollywood star actor Akkineni Nagarjuna in the Madhapur area of Hyderabad.
The HYDRA alleged that 1.12 acres of the structure encroached upon the Full Tank Level (FTL), or buffer zone, of the Thammidi Kunta Lake.
The move has brought the spotlight on Hydra, a body that has been under the radar of the Opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and has accused CM Revanth Reddy of political vendetta.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the authorities have prepared a list of 50 celebrities. It seems that additional forces have been formed for the demolitions. Commissioner Ranganath, who has been in the Buddha Bhavan Hydra office for three days, is holding a series of meetings.
Akkineni Nagarjuna said, “The land is Patta land, and not even an inch of tank plan is encroached. In respect of the building constructed on private land, there is a stay order granted against any earlier illegal notice for demolition. Today, clearly, the demolition was carried out wrongfully based on misinformation.”
