Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited Ram Setu’s origin point, the Arichal Munai in Dhanushkodi, Tamil Nadu. According to Hindu Puranas, Arichal Munai is the origin point from which the Ram Setu was built. Meanwhile, PM Modi is currently in the last legs of his spiritual journey leading up to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya temple tomorrow, Jan 22, 2024.
During the visit, PM Modi has offered floral tribute to the Arichal Munai point. Later today, PM Modi will also visit Sri Kothandarama Swamy temple at Dhanushkodi in Rameshwaram. According to Ramayana, it was at this place that Ravana’s brother Vibhishana first met Lord Sri Ram and sought refuge. In fact, the name Kothandarama literally means Rama with the bow.
Earlier on Saturday, PM Modi visited Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Tiruchirappalli and Sri Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram. It is known that PM Modi is practising an auspicious 11-day ‘Anushtaan’ and set out on a pilgrimage to shrines associated with Lord Ram across the country ahead of the grand ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony tomorrow.
