Huge Spike On Ticket Prices In Trains, Buses Ahead Of Sankranti

There was a huge spike in ticket prices on special trains and buses ahead of the upcoming Sankranti festival. As Sankranti nears, there will be a massive surge in bus ticket prices on several routes, from Hyderabad to Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Kurnool, Tirupati, Kadapa, etc. In addition to that, the South Central Railway (SCR) hikes ticket prices for special train services, anticipating higher demand from passengers in view of the Sankranti festive season.

Earlier, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) MD VC Sajjanar said that TSRTC will run 4,484 special buses from January 7 to 15, 2024. The TSRTC took the decision in order to avoid any heavy rush for the upcoming auspicious Sankranti festival. Meanwhile, special buses will run in congested areas of Hyderabad, such as MGBS, JBS, Uppal Cross Roads, Arangar, LB Nagar Cross Roads, KPHB, Bowinpally, Gachibowli, etc.

In addition to that, the South Central Railway has declared six more special trains ahead of the Makar Sankranti festival. The special trains will run between Secunderabad, Tirupati, and Kakinada cities, and the special train services will run from January 10 to 15, 2024. The special trains will have general, sleeper, first class, 2AC, and 3AC coaches.
