The Election Commission delegation led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar has begun a 2-day tour to Andhra Pradesh state today. Meanwhile, the ECI team visited the state ahead of the upcoming legislative assembly polls and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh. However, the polls are likely to be held in April or May 2024.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar will be accompanied by Election Commissioners Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goel in this 2-day tour to AP scheduled today and tomorrow. According to sources, the Election Commission team will review and inspect all the poll preparedness in the AP state and is also likely to meet the main representatives of all political parties in the state. However, the EC will likely address a press conference on Wednesday evening.
TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena supremo Pawan Kalyan will meet with the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Rajiv Kumar, and other Election Commissioners in Vijayawada. During the meeting with the CEC, Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan will raise their issues about the irregularities in the preparation of the voter list in Andhra Pradesh. However, some additional complaints are still being addressed and resolved by the Election Commission.
