Three-Year-Old Anish Sarkar Becomes Youngest Rated Chess Player

While most children his age are engrossed in cartoons or toys, young Anish Sarkar has developed a fascination for chess. At just three years, eight months, and 19 days, the Kaikhali resident in north Kolkata became the youngest rated chess player in history. He debuted in the West Bengal state Under-9 Open, scoring 5.5 out of 8 points and defeating two rated players.
