England batter Ollie Pope said that the Indian team not having pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will not change their playing style. He was talking ahead of the start of fourth Test in Ranchi and added that the atmosphere in the team is good despite the consecutive losses.
The fourth Test of the five-match series between India and England will be taking place in Ranchi from Friday. Currently, India is leading the series with 2-1. England lost the third Test at Rajkot by a huge 434 runs, this is India’s biggest-ever Test win.
“Bumrah is going to be a miss for them. But it does not change the way we go about. Mohammed Siraj also bowled great in the last game. He picked four wickets in that match. We are not going to change the way we play. There would be still reverse swing to offer and there are still other guys to face,” Pope said.
He was talking during the pre-match press conference. Pope also said that it is still not confirmed that the skipper Ben Stokes will bowl in the match. He was reacting to the pictures of Stokes bowling in the nets were going around online.
Stokes didn’t have been bowling a lot for almost the last two years or so. This was due to his knee problem. He underwent a successful surgery for the same just after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India last year.
