West Bengal BJP MP Jyotirmay Singh Mahato wrote a letter seeking the governor’s intervention to “safeguard” Hindus in the state from alleged threats and attacks. He said that many Hindu festivals, including Durga Puja and Kali Puja, have come under “attack”. “There were frequent reports of disruptions, stone-pelting, and physical violence against devotees during these celebrations,” he said.
