They Themselves Said To Suspend Them: Pralhad Joshi

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Friday launched a stinging attack on the opposition leaders over the suspension of MPs from both Houses of Parliament, claiming that they themselves said to suspend them, just a day after the Parliament’s Winter Session was adjourned sine die. Joshi announced during a news conference in the nation’s capital that the Parliament had passed 19 laws on Thursday, among them Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023.
146 MPs were suspended due to the uproar caused by their demands for a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the security breach in Parliament, even though these laws were passed by the Parliament. The three legislation, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, were passed in Parliament yesterday under the direction of Prime Minister Modi. During the winter session of Parliament, 19 measures were passed overall, according to the Union Minister.
Joshi took aim at the opposition for the MPs’ suspension, saying, “They came and said to suspend them. The Congress Party employs a very simplistic tactic. Present during the press briefing, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal took aim at the Opposition for suspending MPs and claimed that they were seeking retribution on purpose following their loss in the assembly elections. The Speaker is the Parliament’s caretaker. The Speaker of the Lok Sabha has stated time and time again that he is in charge of security. Why do they not think the Speaker is telling the truth? They had lost the assembly elections, and they were purposefully seeking retribution.
They took advantage of the situation because they had been internally strategizing,” Meghwal added. He went on to say that a committee has been established to look into the event involving the security breach in the Parliament. “The Parliament’s security breach is a serious problem. An inquiry has been started, and a committee has been established. It was offensive to the Vice President. Congress feels that they alone have the authority to rule. They believe that their nominee for vice president ought to be made.
