The Union Minister of Women and Child Development and BJP MP Smriti Irani is on her three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh. There, she commented on the unpaid salaries of the retired teachers. She called the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) and scolded her for failing to pay retired teachers’ salaries. She also orders the representative of the education department to pay the outstanding debt and “show some humanity” to the elderly.
Yesterday afternoon, as she was engaging with people in Amethi, Minority Affairs was contacted by a group of retired teachers who informed her of their predicament. The retired educators complained to Irani that they hadn’t received their paycheck since March and that they were sick of going to see the officials to finish their task. After that, she criticized and said, “For the benefit of humanity, complete the current task as soon as possible. I am directly accessible to everyone in Amethi, and I personally keep an eye on everything. I’ll speak with the Chief Secretary if necessary.”
She further said that she is not sure what he did to these elderly folks if he could have given her a thousand justifications for the last ten minutes. Make sure they receive what is rightfully theirs. The state’s CM Yogi Adityanath administration shares her desire.
