The Chief Priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Acharya Satyendra Das Maharaj, has praised the decision to ban liquor shops in Ayodhya city ahead of the Pran Prathishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024. Acharya Das has supported the Uttar Pradesh government’s crucial move to ban liquor and meat shops in Ayodhya and stressed that the decision taken by Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath is really commendable.
Ram Mandir Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das Maharaj said that the momentous occasion should be celebrated like a national festival. Das said that all liquor shops will remain closed on the auspicious day, and schools should be shut for that particular day. He also said that the day of the inauguration of Ram Mandir on January 22 will be a historic day when Ram Lalla will be consecrated in the temple.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the declaration of a holiday in educational institutions across the state on January 22. He said that Jan 22 is considering the emotional significance attached to the eagerly awaited consecration ceremony of the new idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya Dham.
