No Relations With Congress, Will Fight Alone In Bengal: Mamata Banerjee
CM Mamata Banerjee declared that her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), will contest the elections for Bengal's 42 Lok Sabha seats under its own steam and only consider a pan-India alliance with the Congress after results are declared. She also stressed the increasingly bitter divide between two parties widely seen as important members of the INDIA opposition bloc.

CM Mamata Banerjee declared that her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), will contest the elections for Bengal’s 42 Lok Sabha seats under its own steam and only consider an alliance with the Congress after results are declared.
She also stressed the increasingly bitter divide between two parties widely seen as important members of the INDIA opposition bloc. She said, “I have no relations with the Congress… we will fight alone (and) will decide on an alliance only after the election.”
She further noted that she had not, so far, spoken to anyone in that party about seat-sharing agreements. Banerjee also appeared to take a swipe at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and his “Bharat Jodo Nay Yatra,” which is expected to arrive in Bengal on Thursday but might skip Kolkata.
He made a statement stating, “They are coming to my state… they did not have the courtesy to inform me…” Weeks have passed with little sign of an agreement in the Trinamool vs Congress dispute over seat-sharing.
CM Banerjee proposed two Lok Sabha seats on Tuesday, citing the Congress’ dismal performance in the state and criticizing their “unjustified” demand for 10–12 seats in her state.
