People acquainted with the development said that Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, national president of Janata Dal (United), made a resignation offer at the national executive meeting in New Delhi. According to JD(U) state president Umesh Kushwaha, the national executive of the party asked Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar to assume leadership in the greater good of the party and country.
The important meeting began today in New Delhi amidst circulating rumors that Lalan Singh will resign as prime minister to allow Kumar to return. During JD(U)’s national council meeting later in the day, the executive’s choices will be ratified. “There will be a national executive meeting of JD(U),” stated Bihar Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary. Nitish Kumar will lead the party as president if they approve of our suggestion. Lalan Singh requested to transfer the party president position to CM Nitish Kumar because he would be preoccupied with the elections, and Nitish Kumar agreed.”
Prior until now, Kumar insisted that important gatherings in the nation’s capital were merely yearly rituals.
“Every year, these gatherings occur. It’s typical.Nothing at all specific is present. The chief minister told reporters in Patna on Thursday, “These are routine meetings.” The BJP, Singh said, was behind the rumors being propagated about his future and his problems with Nitish Kumar. Singh reiterated that Nitish Kumar was the party leader. Sarcastically, Singh remarked, “If I have to resign, I will call you [media people] and consult you about what to write in the resignation letter so that you can go to the BJP office and get the draft.” “The head of our party is Nitish Kumar. Janata Dal (United) is and will always be unified,” he declared.
Lalan Singh is the national president of the Janata Dal (United) at the moment. Why would anything of the like arise, given that he is the national chief? He’s operating as expected.” Senior party leader KC Tyagi, who attended the national executive meeting, had stated prior to the meeting that alliance dynamics in states would also be covered as part of a regular meeting. Discussions on the nation’s present political climate, financial situation, and seat sharing to target additional states will also be covered at today’s JD(U) national executive meeting, according to KC Tyagi. In order to challenge the Narendra Modi-led BJP machine in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) coalition was formed, with JD(U) serving as a pivotal member.
