The night curfew has been imposed to ensure better area domination by Border Security Force (BSF) troops and deter all illegal activities near the India-Pakistan international border.
A night curfew has been imposed along the International Border (IB) in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The night curfew has been imposed to ensure better area domination by Border Security Force (BSF) troops and deter all illegal activities near the India-Pakistan international border. According to sources, the night curfew will be in effect immediately and will remain in force for two months, unless withdrawn or rescinded earlier.
Samba’s District Magistrate Abhishek Sharma declared that the crucial step aims to prevent cross-border infiltration and weapon smuggling through drones during the foggy weather conditions along the Indo-Pak border. Meanwhile, the key decision was taken after a meeting of the district-level standing committee, where authorities of the Border Security Force (BSF) urged the imposition of a daily night curfew. The night curfew will enable the BSF troops to perform their duties more effectively.
According to the order, the movement of all civilians has been restricted from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. in a one-kilometer-long strip from the International Border in Samba district. In addition to that, Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been invoked to enforce the night curfew.
