At least 18 to 20 new MLAs are likely to take the oath as new cabinet ministers in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, the BJP government in Rajasthan, led by CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, will conduct its first cabinet expansion today. According to the latest schedule, the oath ceremony will take place at 3.30 pm at Raj Bhavan, where Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra will administer the oaths of the new ministers.
Rajastan’s new CM, Bhajan Lal Sharma, had traveled to the national capital to meet with BJP central leaders ahead of the cabinet expansion in the state. However, the names of the minister-designates have not been revealed so far by the BJP party, amid hints that the cabinet would be a mix of veterans and some new faces as well.
According to sources, the Assembly session in Rajasthan is scheduled to be held on January 19, 2024, with the Governor’s address. However, in the recently concluded assembly elections in Rajasthan state, the BJP dethroned Congress to storm to power, winning 115 seats in the 200-member House. Earlier, a fifth-time BJP MLA named Vasudev Devnani was elected as the Speaker of the 16th Rajasthan Assembly.
