Investors Need Not Worry About Karnataka Quota Bill: DK Shivakumar
Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar assured investors that they need not worry over the Karnataka quota bill. This comes amid the row after the state cabinet cleared the quota bill
Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar assured investors that they need not worry over the Karnataka quota bill. This comes amid the row after the state cabinet cleared the quota bill, which aims to reserve jobs in the private sector for locals.
“No investors need to worry. We want investors to come to Karnataka. There are certain sections of people who are talented and come from outside the state. We want them to work in Karnataka. Bengaluru’s population has grown to 1.4 crore because of the outsiders coming here to work,” DK Shivakumar said. He also said the state government will speak to the industry leaders and other stakeholders on the issue.
“We will discuss with industry leaders and other stakeholders. We are more worried than both the employers and employees. We will see where we can accommodate Kannadigas,” he added. His statement came after software body Nasscom said Karnataka’s job reservations for locals in the private sector will hamper growth of tech industry and impact jobs.
